Lithuania Curonian Spit

The Drunkard’s Forest (where tree trunks are strangely twisted and curled), Europe’s highest sand dunes, and the ocean meet at this popular UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the lagoon and see the mysteriously warped trees too.

Luxembourg Chemin de la Corniche

Critics called it the most beautiful balcony in Europe. Take a stroll and see the ancient fortress Wenceslas Wall, and the river canyon. In the winter the ice makes it look even more storybook-like.

Macedonia St. Jovan Kaneo

St. Jovan Kaneo, complete with its ancient stone carvings and 13th- century frescoes, is perched on the cliffs high above pleasant Lake Ohrid. It’s impressive enough to draw even the local fishermen in to pray.

Malta Dwejra Bay

Located on the island named Gozo, this huge rock arch hosts some of Malta’s best snorkeling, and rock pooling. Don’t miss the formation called Azure Window which serves as a limestone picture frame for the beautiful sky and sea.
