Hashima Island located in Nagasaki, Japan was once one of the planets’s most populated island. In contrast to its erstwhile appeal, the island is absolutely isolated now. The island attracted a lot of inhabitants because of its rich coal deposits. Over a period of time several housing complexes were built to accommodate the immigrant miners. People went away from the island as quickly as they descended upon it in search of better opportunities when the resources ran out. Today, Hashima stands as an abandoned island smack in the throes of no man’s land within the ocean.
