Longhorn Caverns are a stunning Hill Country attraction that was once known for housing Confederate Soldiers, Comanche Indians and a few outlaws. Currently, it is a state national park site that is famous for conducting a large number of nature educational programs and tours. Sign up for a guided tour of the region to get an up close and personal account of its tumultuous past and emerging future. You aren’t likely to be disappointed. Some of the things to do here include hiking, enjoying a picnic, taking a guided tour of the area and watching the exhibits in the main building! Visits can also shop for souvenirs at the gift shop or tuck into snacks at the in-house café. Visit the adjoining Inks Lake State Park that offers plenty of outdoor activities.
