According to the experts, Palawan is an important place for watching birds that fly migratory routes in this hemisphere. Specifically, the EAAF or East-Asian Australasian Flyway stretches from the northern Arctic Circle to New Zealand. Palawan is ensconced in the center of the route. Palawan provides a bit of a breather for more than 170 species of birds that migrate to avoid the cold weather of either of the planet’s poles.
This spot features 15 different endemic species of birds that cannot be found anywhere else such as the Palawan swiftlet, the Palawan scops-owl, and the Palawan hornbill.
