Asbury Park, New Jersey
While singer/songwriter and musician and hometown hero Bruce Springsteen made it famous as a music city, it is unfairly overlooked as a place to enjoy the sand and sun. The beaches here are just as scenic as elsewhere and the beachfront promenade has been recently redone with the colorful murals of local artists too. Nearby Asbury Lanes has been revamped also. In fact, you can even stay at the Asbury Hotel which has just been opened complete with a new beachfront rooftop bar and new movie area.
Sombrero Beach ,Florida
The Florida Keys sometimes lack tropical waterfront. However, there’s always Sombrero Beach. Located off the Overseas Highway close to Marathon (specifically Mile Marker 50), this white-sand beach is often deserted during
the slow seasons with nothing to keep you company but the palm trees, mangroves and the turquoise Atlantic Ocean waters. Stroll along the winding shore. If you time it right you can watch the sunrise from the one side, walk down the beach to a rock formation and enjoy the best sunset in the Florida Keys.
