Go To The Met
The Metropolitan Museum Of Modern Art or “Met” as the locals call it is the Western hemisphere’s largest museum. Wander for hours through an incredible assortment of artwork and artifacts spanning thousands of years of different cultures. See Roman and Greek statues, intricate Egyptian sarcophagi and hieroglyphics and the Temple of Dendur. Take in entire halls dedicated to African, Byzantine, Indian, and Islamic artworks. View the many European paintings of Vermeer, Rembrandts and the Impressionists. There are also over 30 annual special exhibitions as well.
Cross The Brooklyn Bridge
This is yet another NYC landmark and most famous bridge. Walking all the way across the neo-Gothic Brooklyn Bridge has been a popular rite of passage ever since it was opened in 1883. See the architecturally elegant web of suspension cables and the artful twin arched towers. This bridge allows both vehicular and pedestrian traffic to make the trip from the center of Manhattan to Brooklyn. Travelers can also take in the panoramic views of the skylines of both boroughs, and look out over New York Harbor.
