See The Statue of Liberty And Ellis Island

Don’t miss the Statue of Liberty. It was a gift from France to the US in 1886. Engineered by the famous Gustave Eiffel and sculpted by Frédéric Bartholdi, it stands 151 feet tall and rests on a special pedestal on Liberty Island. You’ll use the Statue Cruises ferry service out of Battery Park to get there. Plan ahead though because you can only get into the statue by making reservations. Visit nearby Ellis Island too. Once an immigration station, it’s now a museum.

Visit The MoMA

Modern art lovers must see Manhattan’s massive Museum of Modern Art. The MoMA is a mecca for artsy types and features the most extensive and impressive collection of contemporary artwork in the world. Enjoy the paintings, installations, sculptures and more. See Picasso’s famous Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, and other paintings by artists such as Andy Warhol as well. This place always has something new for art aficionados including many different cultural events, educational programs, films, and even limited special exhibitions.
