20Iguazú Falls

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is nestled on the border between Brazil and Argentina. It’s a chain of hundreds of individual waterfalls spanning an area of three kilometers. “Iguazu” literally means big water in local Guarani lingo. True to the name, 1,500 cubic meters of water thunders down from heights between 60 and 80 each second. The best time to visit is during the rainy season (November to February) when it can be as much as 13,000 cubic meters per second.
