4Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
This park encompasses an area of approximately 415 square miles of the well-known mountain range. This park features more than 350 miles of hiking trails complete with alpine lakes and snow-capped peaks. Split by the famous Continental Divide, this park shows visitors a totally different side in the winter.
It is a great place for winter hiking and snowshoeing. In fact, you can sign up for a ranger-led snowshoe hike. If you’re an amateur, don’t worry. Newcomers are welcome. You can go sledding and skiing here as well.
