5. Cruise the Pacific Coast Highway

The famous Pacific Coast Highway is said to be one of the world’s most scenic drives. Running in a north-south direction along California’s shoreline, the highway requires approximately 15 hours to drive. The 590-mile drive begins in the city of San Francisco and ends in the city of San Diego. Along the way, you will see beaches, forests, saltwater marshes and such popular places as Big Sur, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz.

4. See Machu Picchu

Ensconced in the Andes Mountains of Peru, this is the world’s most famous Inca archaeological site. This fine example of Inca civilization is also an official UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2007 it was also proclaimed to be one of the official New Seven Wonders of the World. Most hikers require four days to complete the entire Inca Trail. Still, it’s worth it to take in the panoramic views of Patallacta, Phuyupatamarca, Qunchamarka, Sayaqmarka, and the Temple of the Sun. Click On the Next Button to See Next.
